Basx3D
The initial version of Basx3DTM 3D the HTML Way has been released. This version is pre-alpha and is released to assist in the development of the next release of X3D V4. Basx3DTM is a 3D scene builder using declarative 3D nodes. It is entirely written in JavaScript and uses X3DOM as the underlying library. The application is open-source and will be soon available as a download. The license is the same as X3DOM - dual-licensed under MIT and GPL license. The online version is available for testing and expirmentation at http://tools.realism.com/Basx3D/.
As this is a pre-alpha release, the capabilities are limited to just those to test out and develop ideas for X3D V4. The current feature set allows the
- insertion of geometric primatives (box, cone, cylinder, sphere)
- setting object Material properties
- setting scene background color or images (using the set from the Universal Media Panoramas)
- inline selected X3D models
- saving work (requires manual copy&paste)
- restoring work (requires manual copy&paste)
The next feature to be added is key-frame animation.
Development is on-going and includes User and Developer documentation. The Developer documentation includes a roadmap for further development. If you would like to be part of this, please contact Daly Realism.
